Hello fellow zoners.
I just received news that my contract of rent will not be renewed. That will lead to me needing to move. For some odd reason, this time i am very aprehensive in doing so. I've been living here for 7 years, and the thoughts of moving elsewhere... if i find somewhere is a little overwhelming.
On the other hand, I am thinking about moving now, rather than fighting my case futher. To move at the end of a study, while trying to aply for a job, might be even more stressfull than doing it now.
Any thoughts anyone, also on what i should look out for?
- voice of joy - (ehm a lil sad right now).
I haven't got any advice I'm afraid. I can only wish you all the best, and hopefully it will all turn out okay in the end.
Hugs
Well, what kind of advice are you loking for? Moving advice? Packing advice?
I've moved three times in the last two years; It's stressful, not question about it. When done in a somewhat organized fashion though, it can be a smoother ordeal.
Moving is indeed stressful; I've had to do it more times than I care to remember throughout my life. Can't think of any advice to offer right now but I wish you the very best of luck. Hopefully everything will work out. *smile*
First, have someone sighted look for new units with you. They can look around and make sure there aren't any bugs, evidence of heavy damage, cracked tiles ETC. Have good rental references. Any landlord is going to want to know about your past rental history. Make sure the unit you're looking for is accessible. For instance, an apartment that's located on the 3rd floor of a huge complex, right in the middle of the hall might not be the best option. If possible, get a unit on the end. It'll probably be easier to find, then if you have crappy neighbors, you'll only have them on one side.
When you pack, put all household items together. Dishes in one box, linens in another ETC. Don't forget to have your mail forwarded to your new address. Make sure you have some cleaning supplies before you move. I re-cleaned my apartment when I first moved in. Make sure to have things like nonskid surface for your cupboards, storage containers and garbage bags. You've moved before, so probably already know this part.
What kind of neighborhood are you wanting, a busy condominium, a quiet street, college dorm? Think of these things beforehand. Don't sign a lease unless you're sure about the exact conditions. HTH and PM me with any other questions.
as far as pcking you can get boxes from the store that you will have to essamble yourself.
you mite want to pack in sections like one section for the liven room and so on.
I have moved in 4 houses in the last 3 years that I have been with my husband so I know how it can be.
you should think about some one that can help you moveyour big finature or get a u hall to put everything in.
you that is what I can tell you about this topic
